With our Habit Flooring system, you can drastically reduce service intervals, injury count, and employee time spent on cleaning and maintaining. This will result in increased operational efficiency as well as profitability. Our ballistic system has been tested and is currently in use at some of the nation's most premier climbing and training facilities, and is perfect for high traffic applications that need superior abrasion, puncture and tear resistance. When compared to the various vinyl materials and other woven nylon products used by many our of competitor's systems, our material has been ASTM-tested to be up to twice as strong, while offering a superior ability to prevent chalk from being tracked onto your climbing holds and walls.

Bouldering Floor Materials
  • 1050D Ballistic Nylon

After testing various materials for the Habit Flooring system we selected a custom coated 1050D ballistic nylon to deliver a waterproof and stainproof system for our customers. Our ballistic product is uniquely constructed and domestically sourced. This bouldering floor system is designed to have a separate top and bottom shell, which completely encases the foam matrix. Surrounding the foam in this shell protects it from damage due to floods, spills and general moisture. Our 1050D features a top coating of DWR and is heavily coated for fabric backing. Unlike widely used vinyl materials our fabric is highly resistant to tears, abrasion, punctures, and traps chalk to keep your facility MUCH cleaner from your walls to the front desk.

Nothing else comes close to the durability & cleanability of this high performance material. ASTM testing results show 1050D at almost double the strength when compared with an 18oz vinyl.

  • High Density Matrix Awesomeness

Our systems only feature the highest quality HR foams available. Habit Flooring is known for having much more durability than other systems on the market, and the foams play a role in that. As a result, we only use select foams that meet stringent requirements from our R&D team, and they are exclusively sourced from North American manufacturers to ensure exactly that. Each system is custom designed to best suit the specific application of your facility for wall height and fall zone coverage, be it in a multi-layer or single layer system,. Our systems are mainly designed to feature our signature solid block construction but custom layering is also an option.

Other systems make a compromise between thickness and firmness. Our foam proves to be the perfect balance.

  • Quadruple Stitched and Hidden for years of action

With over a decade of experience in crash pad and sewn manufacturing experience, we have taken these construction techniques and have modified them to create new high-strength welded seams to ensure our systems are the strongest on the market today. We do this by utilizing redundant stitching features which are well-hidden from exterior elements like chalk and climbing shoes. This is yet just another way we push durability to the maximum on our Habit products. Our R&D team is constantly working on new designs, testing new materials and construction techniques to ensure Habit is at the forefront of impact system design.

WE’VE DESIGNED A SEAM SYSTEM THAT SETS THE STANDARD FOR ABRASION RESISTANCE AND AESTHETICS

Route Flooring Icon

Route Floors

Route flooring is important to get right in your facility just like your bounding floor system. The essential functionality is intended to protect heel strikes in case of a fall before attaining the first clip on lead. But you want it to have a clean aesthetic, while providing comfort for your partner belaying you below. Our route flooring is typically designed as a 2” closed cell system to hold up to high foot traffic, while also maintaining the ability to attenuate heel strike impacts. Have a need for something even more unique? This system can be also be ordered in a variety of thicknesses, colors and densities to best suit your specific application. Once installed, the route flooring is finished with our Invisi-Seam surface, as well as any optional add-ons such as our contour-matching anti-trip steel trim. Check the details on those features below.

A seamless appearance helps keep your customers from tripping over gaps and mis-matched surfaces, as well as making your gym look ultra-clean and proper. Some systems use seam tape, but our system gives you the option to forgo it entirely. Because we offer these route flooring features at such a great price, many of our customers choose to outfit all of their non-bouldering space with it; not just their route climbing area.

Invisi-seam Surface

Transitioning from route floor to your base floor can be ugly, cumbersome, and potentially hazardous. A lot of older climbing gyms will just leave this as an exposed edge which collects a ton of chalk and dirt, and deteriorates quickly to become an eyesore. This is why we offer a sleek custom-fit steel trim on all of our flooring designs to once again provide aesthetically pleasing and functional solutions for your indoor rock climbing gym at a very minimal cost.

What makes our company better?
  • After contacting us, a member of our team will reach out to go over the system and custom options that will be best suited to your application. If a sketch or design is not available one of our designers can travel to your location to take a highly precise 3D scan of your entire facility. Using this technology allows us to not only design an accurate model for approval but it also ensures one of the most accurate fitting systems available.

Once the 3D model is made and the final pad design is approved, it is sent into production at our SLC, UT sewing facility, which has over a decade of manufacturing experience. Producing our products in-house allows us to maintain a high level of quality and offer a truly custom made product.

Now that your system is produced it will be shipped and assembled onsite with the help of our skilled installation team. Specialty cutting and gluing equipment is used to get a perfect fit with your new Habit Flooring system.

Testimonials

  • Lance Pinn
    Brooklyn Boulders

We’ve partnered with Habit on all of our flooring installs because they consistently exceed our expectations. Not only is it the best looking system on the market by far which suits our clientele, but in addition we have tracked 30% fewer injuries every year we have had their systems installed as compared to before. With how many climbers we service, that is a huge number of people we are helping.

  • Matt Twyman
    Crux Climbing Center

We decided to go with the Habit Flooring system for a variety of reasons. Primarily it was due to our concerns of long term longevity and serviceably with other systems. We didn’t want to be replacing a floor every 18 months. I talked to other gym owners who went with Habit and they have all seen significantly increased life-spans relative to other products. As a new gym owner it is absolutely imperative that I picked the most durable system out there to mitigate unforeseen expenses.

  • Lauren Watson
    Ground Up Climbing

Our gym has very specific constraints and requirements for flooring. The tight areas created by our bouldering walls and mezzanine railing create unusual shapes and sizes of pads, and they all see a TON of foot traffic. Vertical Solutions came in, quickly came up with a design and drawings, and delivered a system on-time and on-budget. I couldn’t have asked for a more simple process.
