ARC Bouldering Roped Autobelay Bouldering Flooring Roped Flooring Benches/Cubbies

A modern, design-driven facility located in Denver, Colorado, Ubergrippen’s 23,000 square-foot facility features 16,000 square feet of route climbing and 2,500 square feet of bouldering, along with yoga, fitness, and a retail store. Over the course of two years, Vertical Solutions partnered with gym owners Jake and Kim Crine to help bring their beautiful vision to life.

The entry view when a climber walks in past the front desk and retail area.
The backside of the meticulously-designed Spire, made possible by Vertical Solutions ARC climbing wall engineering and construction.
One side of the impressive outside design of the climbing gym, complete with large scale garage door allowing gobs of fresh air to enter on pleasant days and tons of sunlight during winter.
Alas, one of the bouldering areas upstairs given equal attention to detail as the route areas. Tons of light which is a theme throughout the facility, and more than enough space even during peak times.
An uphill look at one of the huge overhung MLM climbing wall structures that is a favorite among the members and features the longest routes in the gym.
A view from the base of the large overhung MLM climbing wall structure looking towards The Spire and giving an impression on exactly how much wall area is dedicated to routes; this is just over 50% of it.
One more view showing how steep of an angle the MLM overhung feature is, which makes for a favorite canvas for the route setters.
The route climbing walls here are plenty tall, distinctive and spread out, as seen from this second level heading up towards the bouldering walls.
The first look you get at the bouldering specific area at the top of the second level. Every foot was meticulously thought out for user-flow and eliminating any cramped feeling even during peak times.
The upstairs view of The Spire curved climbing walls, and the much-welcomed link to the outdoors by way of large, transparent garage door.
The second level fitness gym, with views of route climbing on two sides.
Another upstairs view of the route vast climbing areas constructed of MLM and ARC designs from Vertical Solutions. Customs stains and textures used throughout.
The most comprehensive view capturing 75% of the route climbing wall area, with the kids section just out of sight around the corner. Painstaking attention to detail led to this project being fully dialed.
Upstairs, it's easy to notice how much room is dedicated to route climbing, but turn around and you will see the whole second floor dedicated to bouldering only.
Another angle on one of the main upstairs bouldering walls, with custom stains and textures used all along the deceivingly-deep cave.
Just a minor section of the bouldering area upstairs complete with training-specific systems boards in the background and MLM design/construction throughout from Vertical Solutions.
A look back at the main entry area showing the retail gear shop, front desk, and eventually the craft beer bar!
Another angle of The Spire, a freestanding climbing wall feature made possible thought the innovative approach Vertical Solutions takes with curved climbing wall design and manufacturing.
The aforementioned cafe/future beer bar area aimed to give climbers the well-rounded experience Denver is known for!
No detail was left unaddressed. The front entry area of this gym is 100% on-brand with the rich wood climbing walls throughout the entire facility, including this large laser-cut steel plate logo behind the front desk.
The first walls you are greeted with, these tall route walls are of MLM geometric designs where tied into the building's exterior structure, and ARC curved design where freestanding.
This view shows the complete package that Vertical Solutions was able to deliver for these gym owners: A full variety of wall design, construction, wood base materials, hardwood details, stains, and textures.
On the backside of The Spire, the curved design is less pronounced and aggressive. Finishing off the joints and edges are meticulously crafted details that the VS Team are experts at efficiently producing.
A view of 80% of the route climbing walls, which take advantage of the building's exterior walls while still providing large breaks to introduce sunlight and fresh air.
The remaining 20% of climbing walls are tucked away in an area focused on learning and youth climbing.

From the ground up, this building was designed to accommodate a climbing gym and is large enough to incorporate all the peripheral services like yoga studio, retail area and cafe.
Branding their gym throughout the facility was incredibly important to the owners. This was easily delivered with the wide variety of stains & paints available from Vertical Solutions. These can be applied in order to mask the wood grain with more of a matte look, or accentuate and draw attention to it.
Standing in the middle of the gym, you can see the relationship between the entry/front desk, where it opens up into the route wall area, as well as one of the main bouldering areas above. Also prevalent is the gym logo front and center!
Even the locker rooms were designed to match the look and feel of the rest of the facility, rather than just being an afterthought as they so often are.
A main focus for this facility was being a one-stop shop for all things climbing. That meant a sizable retail area where every single member would be exposed to the right gear to round-out their climbing experience or advance their skills.
Outside the main entrance, you understand how well-rounded and complete the owners' approach was to this facility. No corners were cut, and it shows everywhere in the final product.
The landscape outside the Indoor Crag was utilized to provide an outdoor experience on bright & sunny Denver days!
