HR Assistant

We are looking to add an HR Assistant to our team whose role will be focused on creating learning & development programs. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering impactful programs that help our employees do their best work and assist in fostering a culture of continuous learning. This role will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks such as filing, compliance, recruiting, and other programs to improve processes at both The Front Climbing Club and Vertical Solutions.

  • High school diploma is required and a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or another relevant field is preferred;

Carpenter (Traveling and Salt Lake City based positions)

We design and construct every single layer of our climbing walls out of various forms of wood, from a structural plywood base up to highly aesthetic hardwoods. We need rough and finish carpenters to assist in installing panels and finishing birch and other hardwood. We’d love you to have professional on-the-job construction training either as a jack-of-all-trades or finish carpenter. Most shifts when traveling are M-F between 7am to 6pm and averaging 50 hours per week, but the ability to work weekends with overtime is crucial for project completion in many cases. Positions based in Salt Lake are typically 7am to 5pm, M-F with the ability to work overtime on occasion. We are looking for candidates with long-term potential on our team and are interested in working in the outdoor industry.

Architectural Designer

We are looking for a skilled designer to work on large-scale, indoor rock-climbing gym projects. This a great job for recent graduates in either structural engineering, industrial design, or an architectural program and are interested in using design concepts and construction knowledge and methods to do something unique in a space they are already passionate about.

Must be proficient in Revit, Rhino3D and have solid 3-D modeling abilities. Grasshopper for Rhino a plus. Climbing experience is preferred. Ability to work independently and with a team while meeting established deadlines. Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum frameworks is a plus. Structural engineering or construction management experience is a plus. This position requires someone that is flexible, dependable, and capable.

Production Assistant

This role will operate various machinery and tools to manufacture polyurethane climbing holds and silicone molds. They will be responsible for a variety of shop operations including mixing, pouring, assembly, operating machinery, receiving, equipment maintenance, and quality control.  

  • Create a large variety of holds by repetitively pouring, painting, and sanding;
  • Sand and drill holds using various power and hand tools;
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), general directions, quality-control programs and safety requirements for all production operations;
  • Inspect, weigh, pack and ship holds in accordance with customer orders;
  • Keep a clean, organized working environment;
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is required.

Data Analyst

The Front Climbing Club, Utah’s premier indoor climbing gyms, and Vertical Solutions, a leading national designer, manufacturer and installer of indoor climbing walls and padding, are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to lead the company’s data collection, analytics, and related operational support. We are looking for someone who has the technical know-how and practical business skills to contribute to our innovative, progressive and growing organizations.

This position will be working with executive management to design, develop, integrate, deploy and maintain business critical systems across several platforms. You must have the ability to prioritize and adjust goals and demands as the company evolves and changes. Two years of business analytics experience required, ideally with general programming skills, and experience with FileMaker plug-ins and/or API integrations. FileMaker certification not required but is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address a wide range of programming and technical challenges and collaborate with management to develop operational improvements. Ability to be creative in approach to accomplishing responsibilities and balance craftsmanship with pragmatism and expediency. Excellent time-management skills are essential.

Wood Workers, Installers and Fabricators

We are looking for candidates who like to work with their hands who can carry out climbing wall assembly using a variety of methods, including steel fabrication, rough carpentry, paint, epoxy coating, and a variety of general labor duties.

  • Handles tools of various types including heavy machinery
  • Reads plans and blueprints to make sure the diagrams meet specifications
  • Load and unload materials
  • General labor work (e.g. Sweep, clean up job site, run errands, use hammer and saw, demolition, etc.)

CNC Programmer

Manage CNC programming in order to contribute to the design and fabrication of high-end indoor climbing gyms. Prepare organizational documents for production, packing, material tracking and project reporting. Assist with the management of each project working closely with applicable team members. Must have proficiency in Rhinoceros 3D. 

Primary and Essential Functions 

  • Program CNC mills using RhinoCAM;
  • Oversee and troubleshoot program execution and quality control; 
  • Coordinate with Design, Production, and Manufacturing teams to establish the vision and direction of each project; 
  • Meet daily with Design and Production teams to provide updates on progress towards weekly goals; 
  • Nest wall panels on stock material to maximize material use and manufacturing efficiency; 
  • Inspect panels for proper geometrics, layer designations, quantities, and labeling; 
  • Prepare designs and specifications using computer design software Rhino3D, specifically RhinoCAM and Grasshopper; 
  • Generate dimensioned drawings and documentation for shop quality control; 
  • Maintain a high level of organization and clear communication with shop staff; 
  • Use software to communicate with shop, maintain material inventory, and track job progress and performance data; 
  • Work closely with team members to manage each project, ensuring deadlines are met; 
  • Document and create SOPs for CNC and wood production tasks; 
  • Research and propose new technologies and growth opportunities;
  • T-nutting, shipping and miscellaneous shop tasks as needed; 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space;
  • Other tasks as needed.
